SUNDAY EVENING
For attendees arriving on Sunday 12th of June there will be a meal provided
in the "1838" Club in the Albert College (DCU), from 7.00 to 9.00 pm. This will allow participants to relax
after a busy day travelling, and meet up with old and new friends. At
this meal it will be possible to complete registration formalities.
Registration will also take place on Monday morning.
MONDAY EVENING
There are two things that the Irish are famous for:
- Drinking - whether we like the reputation or not, we are good at it :)
- Literature
We have arranged for a guided pub crawl, in which you will be introduced to the works
of some of the most famous Irish writers. We will be guided by two actors who will perform
some of the most famous works by the likes of James Joyce, Samual Beckett, W.B. Yeats and
Oscar Wilde.
Featured writers include Joyce, Beckett, Behan, Yeats, Shaw, Lavin, Wilde, Boland
and many more.
The tour takes two and a half hours, and will stop at several pubs along the way. There
is about a half mile walk in total, so bring comfortable shoes.
TUESDAY EVENING
The workshop banquet will be on Tuesday evening. It will be held in "1838
club" in the original Albert College in Dublin City University campus.
DCU was founded in 1838, and was originally an agricultural college - it wasn't until
several years later that they introduced the first computer course :)
This building was the original college - it has now been transformed into an elegant
dining hall. We may also set up the Cryptographer's Panel in 1838 club.
